## Fives, the Game
|||||||
**Fives**, a game played with 3 six-sided dice, in rounds, where you roll for matches (or triple matches). Each round is a roll that scores points as so:
|||||||
- **Match**: Points equal to the total of the matched dice: 2 and 2 = 4, and so on.
- **Triple**: All dice match, points equal 10 + total of matched dice, 2, 2, and 2 = 10 + 6 = 16.
|||||||
A short game is 3 rounds and a long game 5 rounds.
|||||||
The rules surrounding this basic framework depends on the variant being played:
|||||||
- **Fives to Ten**: A short fives betting game, the most popular form of Fives. A small minimum bet is made and two rounds rolled and totaled. At this point the player keeps the target of 10+ points to win, or raises it by units of five, each increasing the payout multiplier (see list below). They can also at this point double their bet. They win and cash out if after the final roll they meet or exceed the set target. Lose means the house keeps the bet.
- 10 x2
- 15 x3
- 20 x4
- (+5) (+1) *Though house may limit maximum*
- **Running Fives**: You keep rolling rounds until you score no points. Often in a house the player rolling is bet upon by a crowd for total points of a run.
- **Fives to Fifteen**: The long fives variant of Fives to Ten above. The base target is 15+, and three rolls are made before the raise/double options. Finally two rolls are made after that to complete the long game and calculate final points.
- **Two to Run**: Roll two rounds, if any points are scored, now play as Running Fives. Final points determine level reached, one level per 5 points. In this game their is a ceiling: 25 points, level 5. If you reach this you completed a run.
