If you have gotten here we assume you have read through the short [[Quick Introduction|Regulus/Home#quick-introduction]] on the home page, which outlines the core concept of the game. If not read that over and return here, as this builds upon that.

Regulus is a game for three to seven players, in which one player takes on the role of Director, and the others are Players who play operatives in a Network crew. The demands are different for the Players and Director and can be summarized as:
+
+
* **[[Players|#As a Player]]** are invested in their own operative and the crew at large; they focus on them during play. Players have to care about the crew's characters.
+
* **[[Directors|#As the Director]]** have the greater burden of focusing on the world at large, with a particular aim on the things that interact with the Players' crew. To lessen the burden, the Director has [[COST|/Regulus/COST/Home]], which is a set of rules and guides that support them.

Besides this, you will also need at least 3 six-sided dice, 1 eight-sided die, some paper, and a lot of index cards. This will work for play, but for a better experience, printing the sheets and cards from [[Play Aids|Regulus/Play Aids]] is recommended.
